Beginner/Novice Paddling Clinic

The Beginner/Novice clinic will be held on June 5, 2010 on the Upper New River. Groups will be separated into beginners (with little or no whitewater experience) and novices (with limited Class I and II experience).

On Saturday, clinic participants will work on learning basic paddling strokes, eddy turns, peel-outs, and ferries. Participants will also focus on safety and some basic river reading skills. Sunday will feature a club trip on the Upper New River. Clinic participants are encouraged to paddle on Sunday to work on their newly learned skills.

The class size is limited to 16 students and the registration deadline is May 25th. The cost is noted in the registration form..

You must be a member of WVWA to attend but may join the club at the time of class registration. If you need to join the club, click here.
